A Home to Keep: DIY! Homemade Cozy Coasters that Feel like a Hug!
"May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive,
which is wrapped in thoughtfulness and tied with love."
L.O. Baird

Homemade Cozy Coasters that feel like a hug! The best part of all is you can use up all those fabric scrapes you have! Have fun!

Supplies Needed:
Fabric scrapes or -
Backing - 1/4 yard of quilt batting cut into 4" squares.
Top - 1/4 yard each of matching fabric cut into 4" squares.
Sewing machine
Pinking shears
Coordinating thread
pins

(You can cut 10-12 coasters out of a 1/4 yard of fabric.)
Directions:
Trim the edges of your batting and fabric with pinking shears, this will keep your fabric from fraying. Trim your inner fabric square so it is slightly smaller than your outer batting square. (see the picture).

Layer a fabric piece over a batting piece, pin together. Stitch on your fabric a 1/4 inch from the edges, securing your pieces together.
Lastly anchor the center with free style double hearts as I've done or you can simply stitch an X through both fabric and batting.
Makes a wonderful gift as it is or it can be placed in a cute basket with a coffee mug, tea bags and a good book!
