"Consider it Done - Christmas Tips"

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” Hebrews 10:24

Churches may not hold in-person services. Christmas parties, nativity plays, carolers singing…may look different, or even be canceled. But the pandemic can’t cancel Christmas. We may be home more but home is a good place to celebrate our Savior’s coming with hope and joy. As you gather with your immediate family or with a few more here are some tips to warm your hearts and homes.

  • Pray for the Lord’s guidance with your hospitality, it can be such an expression of His love.

  • Buy a Christmas doormat to brighten the front step. It’s one of the first things people see.

  • Your house should smell delicious; it sets the scene for your gathering. Simmer a handful of cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, orange slices in a pot of water or in a slow cooker.

  • Any host or hostess will tell you, the right music prepares the heart to sing and worship!

  • Bored? Not with these Boards! Whether for a light dinner for the family or an appetizer for a small gathering the charcuterie board is here to stay, but meet it's distant cousin the Dinner Board, and shall we say the favorite Auntie Breakfast Board or the Hurry Over I Miss You Hot Chocolate and Coffee Board? There are no hard rules here. Make it your own, change it up, think outside the box! That is what makes these Boards so interesting and fun; they are always different. You can ask each guest to bring something to add to your board. For delicious meals try these dinner boards, a Potato Dinner Board, an Easy Taco Recipe Dinner Board, or a Simple Chile Dinner Board. Enjoy!

  • If you are really pressed for time, remember: Clean the bathroom really well and be sure to shine the faucets. If the bathroom faucets sparkle, it seems like the whole house sparkles.

  • Candlelight adds so much to Christmas settings. Use them often in December.

  • Say a prayer and count your blessings!
